Mark Light's foray into photography was at the age of 10 when his father put his first camera, a Nikon N2020 in his hands and taught him how to shoot. He was drawn to taking photos during extreme weather conditions. He wanted to capture the drama and spontaneity that nature provided and his hometown of Scituate was a perfect setting for capturing storms. A professional photographer, Mark's father nurtured Mark's passion about photography. He learnt about lighting, exposure, lens types and developed the photos in his own darkroom. Long devoted to taking photos with a film camera, Mark began to shoot and add digital images as of 2011 in addition to shooting film.  His ability to capture candid photos and use of lighting and angles has produced amazing results in bringing national monuments and cities to life as he has travelled the U.S and Europe.
